Deftly melding sounds that range from hard-edged blues to Lisztian piano driven ballads and New Orleans brass, Dirty Bourbon River Show really fire a blast of new energy into the musical landscape of a bygone age. A big-top barrage of gritty sound and snow-globe carnival, segueing seamlessly from kazoo and clarinet-blown circus shenanigans to smooth-croon lounge, jazzy sax solos and staccato piano jams in a magical mystery tour of whiskey-soaked, French Quarter back alleys.
The New Orleans five piece have played over 750 shows and released nine studio albums since forming just six years ago, fast earning the band a stellar reputation for their tight, multi-faceted sound and full on, high-energy performances. Pairing exuberant, syncopated lyrics with complex, harmony-rich songwriting and orchestration, they switch instruments mid-show, all sing, and have a real penchant for theatrics.
Wielding piano, accordion, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, sousaphone, bass and drums, Dity Bourbon River Show have brought their blend of New Orleans big brass circus rock to the VooDoo, Revival and Palisades festivals and hundreds more venues across the USA.
