BITING POINT
Written by Sid Sagar
How can we be good in a world that makes us so angry?
Supermarket driver John and property manager Anita spend their working days in Hull’s endless traffic, each trying to keep a step ahead of modern life.
Driven wild by substitute tomatoes and dodgy plumbing, tensions erupt when they collide on a busy roundabout, with devastating consequences.
Biting Point is a brand-new play about road rage, performed in a car park in Selby. It mixes live theatre with original music and sound design, experienced through headphones.
This is a story that asks big questions about class and anger in Britain today. It’s about the communities we belong to and how the constant pressure we’re all under can turn us into people we don’t want to be.
While waiting for the show to begin, audiences can also enjoy a free cup of tea, and take in a pre-show exhibition and zine curated by artist Rachael Abbey, with contributions from Jay Mitra and Grace Waga Glevey.
Biting Point is written by Sid Sagar and produced by Middle Child, funded by Arts Council England, Hull City Council and Garfield Weston Foundation, supported by Selby Town Council.
Biting Point was developed through the Without Walls Blueprint R&D with the support of the National Theatre Generate Programme, Davina Moss, Tessa Walker, Jennifer Davis and Roy Williams.
