One of the top comedy club nights in the country, The Comedy Network, returns to the Town Hall in 2025.

Each event will feature an MC, opening act and headliner for the bargain price of just £10.

HEADLINER – GLENN WOOL

Glenn began his comedy career in his hometown of Vancouver in 1995. He moved to London in 1998 and quickly became an established star of the London comedy circuit before becoming a globally recognised name. His TV credits include John Oliver’s ‘New York Stand-Up Show’ as well as appearances on The Green Room with Paul Provenza, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Russell Howard’s Good News and numerous other UK stand-up shows.  He was featured on The John Bishop Show on BBC1 and hosted a new NBC series Before the Morning After. He also lent his voice (along with Katherine Ryan) to the BAFTA award-winning Lottie Bearshout: Good as Goaled for Disney XD.

Glenn was nominated for Best International Stand Up at The New Zealand Comedy Awards and was twice nominated as Best Headliner at the Chortle Awards. He’s also supported the likes of Reginald D Hunter and Jim Jefferies on tour.

In recent years Glenn has dominated the international comedy circuit, performing to huge crowds in Holland, Singapore, Dubai, Cape Town, Melbourne, Montreal, LA, New York, Auckland and Sydney. He is a hugely popular addition to many of the great summer music festivals in the UK, including Reading & Leeds, Bestival, Download, Sonisphere and Glastonbury.

“A masterpiece of comedy which has the audience helpless with laughter. I genuinely think this is one of the best hours of comedy I have ever seen” ★★★★★ – The Scotsman

“Effortlessly funny with an affability that other comics can only dream of – You have to go and see Glenn Wool” – The Guardian

“Edgy, imaginative, funny and original, Canadian born Wool sets the standards at the fringe” – Daily Telegraph

OPENER – RICH SPALDING

A mild mannered and polite (or so he says) comedian from the Midlands and one of best acts currently breaking onto the circuit. Winner of the Panel Prize at Manchester’s legendary Beat the Frog World Series Final, Rich’s immaculately crafted material and impeccable comedy timing ensures very well delivered jokes.

“Razor sharp, understated brilliance” – Tom Ward

“My favourite comedian” – Eshaan Akbar

MC – TONY BASNETT

A young and exciting act with bundles of energy and enthusiasm. Tony is a playful and cheeky performer with a childish outlook on anything and everything. He’s reached the final of numerous competitions including Comedy Central Student of the year, Beat the Frog World Series, Harrogate Comedian of the year and Preston Comedian of the Year. (Always the finalist, never a prize)

“He makes naturally funny look effortless” – Patrick Monahan

“Genuinely rib-tickling material coupled with an effortlessly confident yet reassuringly laid-back demeanour, Mr Basnett is a compelling and welcome addition to any evening of quality stand-up” – Spotlight Comedy
