One of finest acoustic finger style and slide guitarists anywhere in the world, Martin Simpson, and North Carolina’s Grammy Award winning guitar and banjo player, Dom Flemons, perform brand new collaborative material rooted in English and American folk traditions. The result of an English Folk Dance and Song Society commission to explore how folk songs have travelled the Atlantic, changing shape as they journeyed, this is the duo’s first ever tour together.

Having delved into archive collections in the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library at Cecil Sharp House - including Cecil Sharp’s landmark folk music fieldwork notebooks and diaries from his collecting trips in the Appalachian Mountains – Martin and Dom have created an astonishing evening of world class musicianship and shared histories.

Martin has been nominated for an extraordinary 28 BBC Folk Awards over 15 years, recorded several albums with June Tabor and performed at The Proms as well as on Later…With Jools Holland. Dom was a founder member of old time string band The Carolina Chocolate Drops, who have toured with the likes of Taj Mahal and Bob Dylan, and whose fifth record, Genuine Negro Jig, won the Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album.
