Tickets bought online will incur a booking fee of 90p per ticket. This money covers the cost of processing the payment.

The Town Hall is a small venue (up to 150 capacity) situated in a former Methodist chapel. About two thirds of the seats are on the ground floor (what purpose built venues would describe as stalls) with the remainder located on the balcony. The central bank of seats on the ground floor are tiered with some flat floor rows at the front and to the sides. Stairs to the balcony are fairly narrow and steep. Balcony seats face the stage front on, arranged in a gentle semi-circle – there are no seats with side views.

  • All events are seated (unless otherwise stated)
  • Tickets are unreserved and seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis
  • There is ramped access to the venue
  • Customers with particular access requirements who require seating in a specific part of the venue can reserve their seat in advance – please call 01757 708449 or email access@selbytownhall.co.uk and we will make sure that a seat which meets your requirements is reserved
  • Guide dogs are welcome
  • We are sorry, but there are no induction loop or minicom facilities in the venue
  • Recipients of Personal Independence Payments, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Armed Forces Independence Payment or customers who are registered sight impaired, and who require an escort to attend performances, can claim a free ticket for their escort. Please call 01757 708449 or email access@selbytownhall.co.uk and we will be able to set you up with a ‘carer’ membership which allows access to these tickets.

Our chairs are upholstered with shallow cushioning. The seat is 44cm wide with a 46cm backrest. In the central tiered section, seats are 7cm apart with 40cm of leg room. The maximum loading of the chairs is 134kg / 21 stone.

If these are not suitable, there are chairs located to the left and right (on flat floor) where it is possible to increase both leg room and the gap between seats. If you have particular requirements relating to the space around chairs we would be happy to reserve one which meets your needs, or discuss options for using a different style of chair. Please call 01757 708449 or email access@selbytownhall.co.uk.

The Town Hall is a licensed venue and operates a bottle bar serving a small selection of lagers, locally brewed ales, wines and soft drinks. No food or snacks are sold on the premises.

Selby Town Hall is located at the west end of Selby’s high street, Gowthorpe, on the junction with Leeds Road, Doncaster Road and Scott Road.

There are a number of public car parks in the town all within a short walk of the venue.
A full list of car parks operated by North Yorkshire Council can be found HERE.
All of these car parks are free after 6pm and all day on Sundays.

South Parade car park is located immediately behind the Town Hall, although it can fill up quite quickly. The next nearest car parks are Selby Leisure Centre and Audus Street, both of which are around five minutes away by foot.

Selby railway station is around a 20 minute walk from the venue and has direct services to York, Leeds, Doncaster and Hull.

Selby bus station is around a 15 minute walk from the venue and has a regular service to/from York.

There are three outdoor cycle stands at the venue with space for up to six bicycles.

  • Tickets which you are unable to use can be refunded up until six weeks prior to the performance. After this point we will only refund tickets in the event that the performance has sold out and we are able to resell them.
  • Tickets cannot be resold at a price above their face value. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets resold for profit.
  • Refunds will be paid by the same method as the original transaction. Please contact 01757 708449 to arrange.
  • In the event that a show is cancelled or a date changed a full refund will be offered, including any booking fees or postage costs (postage will not be reimbursed if the original purchase contained tickets for other events which are still taking place as scheduled). Ticket holders who cannot make a rescheduled show will have four weeks in which to request a refund from the date on which they were notified of the change.
  • Where the cancelled or rescheduled event was a free ticket (as part of the ‘Buy Three Shows Get A Fourth Free’ offer), a gift voucher to the regular value of the ticket will be offered in lieu of a refund.
  • Booking fees and postage will not be reimbursed if the customer is requesting a refund for any event which is still taking place on the advertised date.
