Julian Taylor, plus very special guest, Michele Stodart

JUNO and Polaris Prize-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter Julian Taylor returns to the UK for a special run of shows, celebrating his acclaimed blend of Soulful Americana, Folk Rock, and Alt-Country.

Taylor’s profoundly moving songs—exploring themes of mixed heritage, commitment, and the human condition—have earned him global praise. Live, he is an explosive and captivating performer, backed by his phenomenal, all-female UK touring band:

  • Michele Stodart (Bass, Vocals)
  • Raevennen Husbandes (Guitar, Vocals)
  • Siân Monaghan (Drums)

This powerful trio provides the organic, rhythmic groove that drives Julian’s signature sound.
As an added treat, Michele Stodart (best known as the bassist and co-songwriter of The Magic Numbers) will perform an opening solo set of her own acclaimed material before joining Julian for the headline performance. This double-bill offers a rare opportunity to see two masterful artists and an incredible rhythm section in one unforgettable night.

Press Quotes:

“…one of the strongest Americana recordings we’ve heard year to date.” – Glide Magazine

“Lush… poignant…” – American Songwriter

“…nostalgic yet new…retro yet modern.” – Americana Highways

“…warm, heartfelt familiarity… It feels like a call for healing, bearing a much-needed message in times as uncertain as these.” – PopMatters.com

“So lyrically and sonically rich that it feels like a balm for these jarring times… there’s no genre-hopping. It’s an Americana record, yes, but that label alone feels reductive. It takes the listener on an emotional journey, full of highs and lows, and the mixture of joy and sadness brought by memories of lost loved ones. From the opening title track to the closer, the production, vocals, and acoustic instrumentation wrap you in a warm hug. If ‘comfort’ could be its own genre, then that is where it falls.” – Canadian Musician magazine

“…timeless style…” – Ear to the Ground Music

“…stirring song craft… rich, heartfelt… a very introspective and strong storytelling effort as Taylor forges his own brand of Americana.” – Take Effect Reviews

“…lots to savor here…” – BlogCritics.org

“…full of wide open spaces and cowboy-like ballads.” – Americana Music Show

“…crisp, modern, and listenable… the folky, rootsy facets of the album feel entirely intuitive, raw, and perfectly placed… a stunning work of country-folk…” – The Bluegrass Situation

“…a deeper shade of soul.” – The Absolute Sound

“…an album from which you could pluck any song and revel in it.” – Off-Center Views
